Frank Illes – Dynamic. Unique. Compelling.

Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, I started my photography career while I was still a performing / recording artist. My music career allowed me to travel and to discover life in this world in a profoundly unique and magical way.

My parents loved jazz, and my father was a devout shutterbug. They instilled in me a passion for art and taught me to always keep an open mind, open eyes and open ears.

As a child I found great pleasure in comic books, commercial jingles and TV show theme songs. To this day I am a HUGE Spiderman fan. I think he’s the real reason I got into photography, if I’m totally honest with myself.

After a while I found myself photographing musicians more often than actually being a musician. That led my career successfully into photojournalism and commercial shooting.

I’ve traveled across Canada many times and now make my home in Las Vegas, Nevada.
